How can I get my original tax return?
To get a transcript, taxpayers can:
- Order online. They can use the Get Transcript tool on IRS.gov.
- Order by mail. Taxpayers can use Get Transcript by Mail or call 800-908-9946 to order a tax return transcripts and tax account transcripts.
- Complete and send either 4506-T or 4506T-EZ to the IRS.

Why does HMRC show tax return received but not submitted?
No payments on account are showing for 2021. On closer looking, I noticed that the 2019/20 tax return is showing as received but not submitted, so the tax liabilities have not been updated. Tax return submitted using 3rd party software on 6 Jan, the date HMRC received it. Anyone have any ideas why HMRC don’t have it logged as submitted?
