- Looking for emails or status updates from your e-filing website or software.
When do I have to refile my Robinhood taxes?
Automod removed my post and the mods mocked me and refused to fix it – claiming that everyone there is 18+ and can figure it out themselves (completely missing the point of sharing this information). As a heads up, Robinhood itself states: “Please wait until February 18th to file your taxes to avoid having to refile.”
Is the 1099 form correct for Robinhood?
Consider this a heads up that your Robinhood 1099 form may be corrected as well. So basically, don’t rush to file your taxes. I tried to make a post regarding this on r/Robinhood, but was quickly shot down.
Are there errors on the 1099 tax form?
My mother and I have both received revised copies of our 1099 forms from Robinhood (meaning there were errors in the originals). This error on their part has forced us both to refile our taxes and as such is costing us hundreds of dollars.
Why did my tax return go back this year?
I had the same thing this year at TD and typically the corrections are due to your actual holdings and not just clerical errors with the brokerages. Some ETFs and Mutual Funds will frequently go back and reclassify dividends as capital gains distributions or return on capital which causes a difference in reportable income.
